Privacy policy

LawnCaring, Inc. ("LawnCaring," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Plain-language summary: We collect the minimum needed to deliver the gift. We never sell data. Recipient information is deleted 90 days after the last visit.

What we collect

From buyers (you)

• Name, email, and payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number)
• The recipient address you provide
• Your gift note
• Order history and communication preferences

From recipients

• Name and street address (provided by the buyer)
• Phone number (if they reply to our SMS)
• SMS opt-in/out status

We do not create user accounts for recipients. They never log in, set a password, or download an app.

From pros

• Name, address, phone, and email
• Background check results (via Checkr)
• Insurance documentation
• Bank account information for payouts (via Stripe Connect)
• GPS location during active jobs (for ETA and routing only)
• After-visit photos

How we use it

• Deliver the gift: Match a pro, schedule the visit, send the card and SMS
• Process payments: Charge the buyer, pay the pro
• Improve the service: Photo quality audits, route optimization, support
• Communicate: Order confirmations, visit updates, support responses

We do not use recipient data for marketing. Ever. The gift is the product, not a lead-gen channel.

Data retention

• Buyer data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Recipient data: Deleted 90 days after the last completed visit. Address is hashed for duplicate-prevention only.
• Pro data: Retained while the pro is active on the platform, plus 1 year after departure for insurance and legal compliance.
• After photos: Retained for 1 year, then deleted.

Who we share with

• Stripe: Payment processing
• Checkr: Background checks for pros
• Twilio: SMS delivery
• USPS / print partner: Card printing and mailing
• Supabase: Database hosting (US-based servers)

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use third-party ad trackers. We do not run retargeting pixels.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only: session management and CSRF protection. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking scripts.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@lawncaring.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children

LawnCaring is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We will email active buyers if this policy changes materially. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
